- Get 500 gm chicken
- Take 2 cups Jeera samba rice
- Make ready 1/2 cup oil

- Take 2 Cardamom

- Prepare 1 tsp Coriander powder

- Make ready 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- Take 1 tsp Chili powder
- Make ready 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
- Make ready to taste Salt
- Make ready 1 tbsp Oil
- Get For grinding
- Make ready 1 medium size Onion
- Get 8 Garlic cloves
- Make ready 1 inch Ginger
- Prepare 5 Green chillies
- Prepare Handful Coriander leaves
- Get Handful Pudina(mint leaves)
Steps to make Donne chicken biryani:
- Wash and drain the chicken. Marinate chicken with the ingredients mentioned and rest it for minimum 30 minutes to overnight in the fridge.
- Wash and soak jeera samba rice for 30 minutes. Recipe for Donne biryani masala powder is shared.
- In a mixer jar take all the ingredients mentioned for grinding. Add little salt to maintain the green color and grind with very little water required to grind to a smooth paste.
- Heat oil in a thick bottom pan. Once hot add bay leaf, cardamom and sliced onion. Fry until onions are golden.
- Add the marinated chicken and fry for 2 minutes. Add the grinded masala and cook on medium flame until oil separates.
- On low flame add beaten curd, corinader powder, and biryani powder. Mix well and cook for 2 mins.
- Meanwhile roughly chop tomato and grind to a paste.
- Add it to the pan and cook until raw smell of tomatoes goes away.
- Add 3 n half cups of warm water, required salt and let it come to a boil. Add drained rice and let it cook.
- When rice is half one add crushed kasuri methi, lemon juice and mix gently. When rice is almost done close tightly with a lid and put it on dum for 8-10 mins. Place a thick tawa in the bottom for even distribution of heat.
- Let it rest for minimum 10 minutes and open the lid. Gently fluff up with a spoon.
